Reliable, Precise, Built to Perform
GAP FRAME
PRESS FEATURES
Shared engineering features for all Titan single point and two point presses.

01 / CONSTRUCTION
RUGGED CONSTRUCTION FOR LONG-TERM PERFORMANCE
Titan gap frame presses are built with heavy-duty, high-rigidity frames designed for strength, stability and precise operation. Every component is engineered and machined to exacting standards to ensure years of reliable production.

Frame
MMC/Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature a rigid, one-piece fabricated steel frame engineered for superior strength and resistance to torsion, deflection, and vibration.
Each frame undergoes Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity and minimize deflection. Additional features include provisions for strain links, knockout mechanisms, air cushions, and light curtain mounting.
Slide & Slide Guidance
The slide is manufactured from high-grade, box-type cast iron for strength and resistance to deflection and vibration.
Six-point, full-length box-type gibs provide precise front-to-back and side-to-side guidance throughout the stroke.
Ball-type socket connections reduce maintenance requirements while helping maintain slide parallelism and extend die life.
Slide Face Machining
The slide face features JIC-standard T-slots for secure die mounting. Custom machining is available to accommodate specific tooling requirements.
Bolster Machining
The bolster plate is furnished with JIC-standard T-slots for flexible die mounting and positioning. Custom machining is available to meet specialized production requirements.
Clamp Cap
A clamp cap equipped with a mechanical locking pin is provided.
Optional Pneumatic Die Cushion
TM1 and TM2 Series presses are designed to accommodate an optional bolster-mounted pneumatic die cushion, available at additional cost.
02 / DRIVE SYSTEM
SMOOTH, POWERFUL AND RELIABLE OPERATION
Titan gap frame presses feature a low-inertia drive system engineered for strength, durability, and smooth, quiet operation. Precision-manufactured forged steel components deliver consistent performance and long service life in demanding production environments.

Drive System
Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature a low-inertia drive system with gears operating in a completely enclosed oil reservoir. Forged steel gears are precision-ground and hardened to ensure accurate tolerances, smooth operation, and extended service life.
The crankshaft is manufactured from high-carbon forged steel, precision-machined and polished. Bronze-alloy bearings and bushings provide durability, while a variable frequency drive (VFD) controls the V-belt-driven flywheel.

High-Performance Wet Clutch & Brake
Titan's air-actuated wet clutch and brake system delivers rated torque at relatively low air pressure, reducing lining wear and air consumption.
The enclosed oil bath provides effective heat dissipation, extending clutch and brake lining life. Its low-inertia design also supports higher single-stroke rates, faster stopping times, and reliable operation.
03 / LUBRICATION
AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION FOR MAXIMUM UPTIME
Titan gap frame presses feature an automatic recirculating oil lubrication system that keeps critical components properly lubricated. This electronically monitored system helps reduce wear, extend component life, and ensure reliable operation in demanding production environments.

Automatic Recirculating Oil Lubrication
Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature an electronically monitored, automatic recirculating and filtered oil lubrication system.
Anti-friction bearings, sleeve bushings, and slide gibs receive continuous lubrication during operation. The system is integrated with the press controls, automatically shutting down the press and displaying a fault indication if a lubrication problem is detected.

Air Counterbalance Cylinder Lubrication
A separate automatic oil lubrication system supplies oil to the air counterbalance cylinders at the proper time.
A dedicated oil pump ensures the cylinders receive lubrication as required during press operation.
04 / PRECISION & ADJUSTMENT
ACCURATE CONTROL FOR HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY
Titan gap frame presses are engineered for precise adjustments, consistent performance, and efficient operation. Motorized die height adjustment, accurate slide positioning, and air counterbalance technology help streamline setup, maintain precision, and reduce component wear.

Powered Die Height Adjustment
Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature motorized die height adjustment for quick and accurate setup.
A selector switch and Up/Down controls allow operators to adjust die height conveniently, while limit switches prevent adjustments beyond the specified operating range.
Electronic Die Height Indicator
A digital die height indicator is mounted on the front of the slide for convenient viewing.
The indicator displays the current distance between the bottom of the slide and the top of the bolster in millimeters, with a resolution of 0.01 mm (0.0004 inches).
Air Counterbalance System
An adjustable dual-cylinder air counterbalance system offsets the weight of the slide, connection assemblies, and upper die.
This system reduces main motor power consumption during the upstroke and helps extend the service life of crankshaft bearings, connections, and slide components.
An integrated regulator, pressure gauge, pressure switch, and air tank support proper operation. Recommended pressure settings are provided according to upper die weight.
Vibration Isolation Mounts
Titan presses include vibration isolation mounts designed to dampen vibration and provide leveling and height adjustment capabilities.
These mounts support proper machine positioning and stability during operation.
05 / PROTECTION & SAFETY
BUILT-IN PROTECTION FOR SAFER OPERATION
Titan gap frame presses incorporate essential safety and protection features designed to safeguard equipment, tooling, and operators. From automatic hydraulic overload protection to mechanical guarding and die safety systems, these features support reliable operation in demanding manufacturing environments.

Hydraulic Overload Protection
Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature an automatic hydraulic overload protection system built into the slide assembly.
When excessive tonnage is detected, a fast-acting pressure relief system responds within milliseconds, immediately stopping the press to help prevent equipment and tooling damage.
The system can be reset by inching the slide back to top dead center (TDC), allowing hydraulic pressure to automatically return to its factory setting.
Die Safety Block
A non-adjustable die safety block with holder, plug, and receptacle is included.
When the safety block is removed from its receptacle and the plug is disconnected, power is removed from the control circuits for the dual safety air valve and main drive motor.
This prevents inadvertent press operation until the safety block is replaced and the plug is reconnected.
Rear Lower Guard
A hinged and bolted rear lower guard is provided as part of the press guarding system.
Flywheel Guard
A bolted flywheel guard is included as a standard protective feature.
Die Light
An integrated die light is included to provide illumination of the die area during operation and setup.
06 / CONTROLS & AUTOMATION
ADVANCED CONTROLS FOR GREATER FLEXIBILITY
Titan gap frame presses feature PLC-based control systems designed for precision, reliability, and ease of operation. Advanced touchscreen technology, programmable functions, and automation-ready capabilities help streamline production, simplify troubleshooting, and improve overall efficiency.

PC3 Clutch/Brake & Electrical Control System
Titan TM1 and TM2 Series presses feature the Mitsubishi PLC-based PC3 control system, designed for reliable operation, easy troubleshooting, and integration with compatible automation equipment.
The system includes a 10-inch color touchscreen with:
-
Machine functions and operating status
